Your Job: 

In this highly technical, fast-paced, and rewarding position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for patients. The Senior Health Informaticist primary purpose is to support and maintain the Epic electronic health record at Methodist Health System. 

Your Job Requirements:

  • The candidate we are looking for in Health Informatics should ideally have (in order of preference):
    • 3+ Years of Epic Build Experience AND
    • Epic OpTime and/or Anesthesia build certification
    • OR another Epic certification and willingness to be certified in Epic OpTime upon employment
    • OR Epic certification in OpTime and/or Anesthesia certification as a Principal Trainer who is willing to build in Epic
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in healthcare informatics preferred. Equivalent work experience in an acute care environment can replace the educational requirement.
  • Graduate from accredited school of nursing or other allied health professional degree preferred but not required for candidates with formal informatics training and/or compelling professional experience.
  • Three or more years of experience implementing and supporting electronic health record applications is preferred.
  • Prior work experience in a nursing or other clinical environment is preferred.
  • Project management experience or certification strongly preferred.
  • A high level of analytical ability is required to find solutions for using Epic to improve the quality and safety of patient care.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills are needed to communicate with and drive consensus amongst physicians, nursing, pharmacy and other stakeholders.
