Ohio University Interpersonal Externship


Memorial Health System and Ohio University have partnered together to provide an interpersonal development opportunity to students in various healthcare programs.


·        Hands-on Experience: During clinical rotations you will receive hands-on experience in the profession that you're passionate about

·        Accredited Environment: Memorial Health System has multiple accreditations and awards including Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program

·        Community Hospital: Working with providers to provide excellent care toward community members of the Mid-Ohio Valley

·        Leadership Opportunities: delving into the leadership side of healthcare through novel training models to provide a new level of competencies in areas such as LEAN and leadership development 

·        Continuous Improvement: Memorial Health System prides itself on being an education-first institution, where learning is a high priority


·        Grow in interpersonal development by attending all novel training

·        Gain experience within your education and your comfort zone

·        Apply what you've learned in the classroom to real-life situations

·        Perform clinical duties with guidance from preceptor

·        Maintain confidentiality


·        Be enrolled in one of the following healthcare programs at Ohio University: medical school, nurse practitioner program, registered nurse program, social work program, speech therapy program.

·        Willingness to learn

·        Complete and/or maintain Netlearning (Care Learning) modules, confidentiality form, and security parking form

·        Ensure a completed background check and updated immunizations

·        Comply with all MHS Standards of Excellence
