In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Oncology Program Compliance Manager is responsible for the planning and operations of the oncology program compliance, clinical investigations (Research), oncology accreditations, and the registry at the Strecker Cancer Center. Also responsible for the management and supervision of assigned personnel of cancer program to include, but not limited to: cancer program coordinator, navigators, and social workers. Supports the director in aligning departmental goals with organizational goals and strategic objectives as well as clinical outcomes, financial performance, performance improvement, quality control, customer service, and employee relations of this department. Exhibits the Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.
· Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or appropriate related field required.
· Three to five years experience in Cancer Registry operations, ACoS commission on cancer accredited facilities, relevant clinical experience.
· CTR (certified tumor registrar) required within one year of hire
· Demonstrated leadership skills.
· Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
· Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals, to influence others to perform their jobs effectively and to be responsible for making decisions, and to find solutions for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.
· Data coding, Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology ACoS-FORDS coding ICDO coding, Cancer Staging Quality assurance background.
· Working knowledge of Window-based software data entry and verification (quality control).
· Excellent investigative/analytic skills with detail orientation.
1. Oversees submissions of data to the Ohio Department of Health Central Cancer Registry, the National Cancer Data Base, the National Cooperative Research Groups, the FDA, and the Activities Committee, Tumor Board, Breast Conference, and other cancer conferences as assigned.
2. Coordinates registry, program compliance, and research activities.
3. Actively participates on committees such as Cancer Committee, Hworks, Ethics, NCR Picker, Hospital QI, CCOP for clinical trials, Hospital EMR and others as requested.
4. Has the authority and responsibility to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline, direct, or recommend such actions by using independent judgment.
5. Completes and conducts employee performance evaluations based on direct observation of their employee's job performance.
6. Granted authority to perform the supervisory duties and are held accountable for performing such duties.
7. Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
