The Team Member Medical Clinic (TMMC) Lead RN is responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination and support of nursing operations, assuring quality of care to team members through maintaining nursing operations initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. Maintains nursing staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Maintains safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations; collaborating with Nurse Practitioners and departmental team members. Maintains a cooperative relationship among team members by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods. Ensures collaborative relationship with Occupational Health team members as appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate
· The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:
o Five years experience as an occupational health nurse to include at least one year in a hospital/healthcare setting, and management/supervisory experience.
o Basic understanding of federal and state regulations applicable to occupational and environmental health and safety, including ADA/ADAA, FMLA, Worker's Compensation and USP800.
o Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondance, such as OSHA logs and reports.
o Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
o High level of computer literacy of Microsoft Office and Occupational Health software.
Promotes and develops the day-to-day management and long-term planning of the patient care area; directing and
developing staff; collaborating with providers and multidisciplinary professional staff.
Job Specific Duties:
Oversees the functions and coordinator of the clinic as it pertains to the day-to-day operations.
scheduling and rearranging staff assignments to accommodate the patient flow and needs of the clinic.
Knowledgeable of all clinic roles and responsibilities.
(front desk, telephone, triage, scheduling, phlebotomy, ordering of lab test and correct processing of specimens, ordering and maintenance of inventory of clinic supplies, expert in requesting IT, Facilities, Biomed and other designated Moffitt services with follow-up, troubleshoot technical and clinical issues involving equipment, process and staff issues.
Protects patients and team members by developing and interpreting infection-control policies and protocols;
Oversees medication administration and storage procedures.
Improve health outcomes through coordinating care (referral), educating patients (review handouts by provider), building trust between patients and medical practitioners, and enhancing communication and the continuity of care (scheduling and ensuring follow-up appointments are kept). Teach, counsel and monitor patients on health issues relevant to their care and communicate with ordering provider appropriately for direction.
Maintains nursing staff job results by supervising, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and education plans for TMMC staff to include:
Ensure that the clinical staff (LPN,MOA,MA) remain in compliance with institutional and professional development and regulatory standards through education and competency. Maintain a healthy, collaborative team environment. Mentor the LPN, MOA and MA while contributing to the collaborative relationship between clinical staff and providers.
Credentials and Qualifications:
· BSN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with at least one year of relevant experience or ASN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with 2 years of relevant experience and enrolled to complete BSN from an ACEN or CCNE within 3 years of hire
· FL RN License
· BLS Certification
· ACLS certification
· COHN or COHN-S Certification (Preferred)
Minimum three (3) years as a registered nurse in primary care clinic required.
