SR. DATA ANALYST

Job Summary

The Senior Data Analyst position is an integral part of the GI Department and the Moffitt Cancer Center. Analyzes data on specific, identified projects within the Department in an effort to enhance academic activity and publications. This data could be used to produce patient data outcomes and is presented at meetings and published in scientific journals worldwide. The position plays an integral role in presentations and publications.

Qualifications

 

  • Education: 
    • High School Diploma / GED - REQUIRED
      • Field of Study: Coursework in medical terminology, anatomy & physiology or equivalent experience in allied health field required.
    • Associate's Degree - PREFERRED
  • Minimum Experience Required:
    • Requires minimum of 2 years experience with data analysis.
    • Certification in Human Subject Protection required or completed in first 30 days of employment.
    • Knowledge of ICD-9 coding. Able to support the efforts of data abstractors in accurately identifying,interpreting, selecting, and recording cancer and cancer related components of medical, diagnostic, and therapeutic records including but not limited to medical history, physical history, progress notes, discharge summaries, operative, pathology, radiology, laboratory, and investigative and standard cancer treatment; understand and apply competent data interpretation and selection processes, principles and data entry standards; must be knowledgeable in medical oncology terminology; needs proficiency with word processing software, and windows-based operating system;
    • Shows good judgment in prioritizing work to meet department goals, standards and deadlines.
