The M2Gen Sr QA - Applications & Data Analysis position oversees efforts to ensure the quality of applications, software platforms, data warehouse (DW), database administration (DBA), and business intelligence (BI) activities via various test and validation methods throughout all stages of the system development life cycle (SDLC), primarily within the M2Gen IT domain.  The position serves as a liaison between the technical and business teams for data quality processes.

This position is responsible for coordinating, organizing M2Gen quality assurance/testing initiatives. This entails: to applications & databases testing, applying and using structured software test processes, best practices, procedures and tools, guiding the efforts of other team members to meet requirements and project goals.

The Ideal Candidate demonstrates:

·       Extensive knowledge of data quality methods and techniques

·       Experience in testing large-scale database systems, preferably business intelligence systems and/or data warehouse

·       Ability to lead, manage and provide guidance on testing efforts, conduct root cause analysis, develop data quality solutions and business requirements and translate them into a design that can be implemented

·       Proven expertise with JIRA, GIT, including MS Project and SharePoint services

·       Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with diverse project teams

·       Self-directed and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks with minimal supervision.

·       Ability to work in a fast paced environment and comfortable adjusting to changing priorities; works well in a team environment and preferably in an agile environment.

Job Responsibilities:

·       In conjunction with Manager, IT Solutions and Services, owns the standards, guidelines, and procedures around Software & DW test/quality items

·       Guides the efforts of other team members to meet requests and project(s) goals

·       Trains QA Data Analysts, internal and consultants

·       Participates in the ORIEN Release and Operational Management meeting and has responsibility for assigning work to the various technical and business personnel.

·       Provides test project management oversight and governance, interfacing with designated project managers, database team, and business teams

·       Architects and automates database and reporting applications testing, applying and utilizing structured software test processes, best practices, and procedures and tools

·       Defines and documents plans for total testing solution of the entire IT solutions & data delivery process; ensuring proper tools, techniques, and methodologies are applied throughout the entire test cycle

·       Works closely with the Data Management, ORIEN Members, Bus Dev teams as IT, data ingestion & delivery solutions are developed and requests for data fulfilled; participates in discussions to ensure a thorough understanding of the entire design approach

·       Interacts with business subject matter experts (SME) to understand the business process, metrics, and language

·       Serves as liaison between technical and business teams to ensure the technical systems/applications meet the needs of the business & appropriate QA measures can be applied

·       Conducts root cause analyses to identify issues and provide resolution

·       Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

Credentials and Qualifications:

·       Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or IT related field, Master's degree preferred.

·       Minimum 7 years' experience and knowledge of quality assurance best practices, software testing methodologies, test repository management tools and frameworks, especially in an Agile development environment as well as in data warehouse or business intelligence environment

·       Minimum 7 years' experience working with web applications, UI/UX, web/micro services & database systems and supporting tools (preferably on a cloud based distributed architecture)

·       Minimum 5 years QA experience in a healthcare/research environment

·       Proven expertise with JIRA, GIT, including MS Project and SharePoint services
