M2Gen is a health informatics solution subsidiary of the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer and Research Institute in Tampa, Florida. M2Gen is the operational and coordinating center for the Oncology Research Information Exchange (ORIEN), an alliance of cancer centers across the US. The Strategic Partnerships Director will lead strategic engagements to develop long term relationships with biopharma partners as well as other strategic collaborators (e.g. CROs).   Ensuring effective day-to-day engagement with our biopharma collaborators (e.g., real-world data science, epidemiology, medical affairs), including on-site representation at client meetings and management of periodic client steering committees.

 Position Highlights:

  • Work with sales teams and executive leadership on designing and implementing optimal client experience, from onboarding to delivery

  • Participate in leadership and strategic decisions around client management, portfolio roadmaps and strategic investments. Incorporate key client feedback into product and process improvements.

  • Contribute to the development of marketing and sales collateral.

  • Become a subject matter expert on M2Gen's product and service offerings and reliably represent M2Gen's capabilities to advance the oncology data related priorities of our biopharma collaborators

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for biopharma collaborators, interfacing as necessary to align M2Gen's offerings with client needs and selling new products and services to meet those needs

  • Lead development of new business proposals -- directly contributing to incremental M2Gen revenue

  • Oversee the entire contracting process from inception to execution by working with prospective partners to understand key objectives and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop a scope of work and associated budget

  • Collaborate with M2Gen's cross-functional teams to support collaborations with biopharma partners, in particular ensuring high quality and timely delivery on existing projects

  • Identify and scope new opportunities by building and deepening relationships across different teams within partners' organizations

  • Be the voice of the partners and collaborate across internal functional groups (Bioinformatics, Strategy, IT, Finance, Legal, Business Development/ Alliance Management peers, Product Development, Operations, and Finance) to: identify opportunities to enhance existing products; maintain current business; identify new potential product and service offerings; and influence go-to-market strategy

  • Represent partner's needs to executive management, professionally, succinctly and accurately

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Will have a Bachelor's degree in Biological sciences, engineering, biostatistics, health economics, or similar, a MS is preferred.

  • 10+ years in healthcare/ life sciences field a must

  • 5+ years in pharmaceutical sales, business development, project management and/ or alliance management, in a CRO, Pharmaceutical, Med Device, Data Science or Biotech environment

  • Working knowledge of oncology field and drug development process

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key technical personnel with Biopharma partners and internally

  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in the planning and execution of projects, ideally across multiple functional areas and various development phases

  • Experience with managing multiple projects with demonstrated ability to deliver high quality results in a fast paced, time sensitive environment, including managing timelines, data analyses, supporting client communication and cross-functional team collaboration

  • Detail oriented with a strong desire to develop data analytics content expertise (e.g., Real World Evidence, clinical oncology, Health Economics and Outcomes Research)

  • Ability to own multiple client relationships by embedding oneself into client's way of thinking and championing client's needs within M2Gen

  • Ability to navigate and communicate across organizations with different cultures

  • Persistent and resilient with a tenacious appetite for success

  • Strong tactical thinking, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate the organizational culture and teams at both M2Gen and Biopharma partners. Attention to detail and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment will be crucial

  • Ability to apply healthcare background (preferably including a focus on oncology) to support end-to-end client engagement process, including capabilities presentations, project scoping, and customer support

  • Flexible, start-up mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing, deadline-driven environment

  • Ability to juggle multiple client interactions and deadlines simultaneously

  • Exceptional listening and a high level of attention to detail and nuance

  • Strong analytical ability and critical thinking skills

  • Comfort working independently as well as part of a matrixed team

  • May require moderate (>30%) travel
