The Business Development Director- Field Sales ("BDD") is responsible for the day to day activities related to securing new business and retention of existing collaborations with Biopharma partners thereby contributing to M2Gen's short- and long-term revenue targets.  The BDD role is also responsible for lead identification, prospect management and presentations of M2Gen's offerings to prospective and existing partners. 


In this role, the successful candidate will directly call upon scientific and executive leadership at prospective partners to understand M2Gen's customer's key needs and data analysis questions.  The BDD will represent these needs to M2Gen while also demonstrating M2Gen's data analytic capabilities to biopharmaceutical partners. 


The successful candidate will need to exhibit strong tactical thinking, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate the organizational cultures and teams at both M2Gen and the Biopharma partners.  Attention to detail and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment will be critical to success.


Location: Tampa or remote/ home-based, near major airport, candidates will be considered in and around the East Coast


Job Specific Duties:

·       Sell M2Gen data subscription and bioinformatics project services to pharma, biotech and CRO clients

·       Actively develop new business and cultivate relationships to drive long term revenue growth for M2Gen

·       Translate M2Gen strategic plan into sales specific strategies and tactics customized to each potential client to achieve volume, product, and profit objectives

·       Plan, direct and manage the sales and business development activities for assigned client portfolio including cultivating cross-functional client relationships and influencing key decision makers

·       Strong alignment with potential client senior leadership team for proposals, contracting and day-to-day management

·       Incorporate key client feedback into product and process improvements and communicate same to Alliance Management colleagues and M2Gen leadership professionally, succinctly and accurately

·       Contribute to the development of marketing and sales collateral, based on customer input

·       Become a subject matter expert on M2Gen's product and service offerings and reliably represent M2Gen's capabilities to advance the oncology data related priorities of our biopharma collaborators

·       Serve as the primary point of contact for biopharma collaborators, interfacing as necessary to align M2Gen's offerings with client needs and selling new products and services to meet those needs

·       Travel 50% or more, as needed

 The Ideal Candidate:

·       Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences, Biostatistics, Health Economics or similar

·       10+ years of experience in business-to-business sales, business development, and/ or alliance management roles within pharmaceutical, CRO, Med Device, Data Science or Biotech environment

·       Demonstrated successful selling capabilities in complex, large biopharma contracts ideally within the oncology and/or data analytics space

·       Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and adapt to changing customer needs in highly competitive conditions

·       Ability to develop and negotiate complicated contracts in a business-to -business setting

·       Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key technical personnel with Biopharma partners and internally

·       Experience with managing multiple projects with demonstrated ability to deliver high quality results in a fast paced, time sensitive environment, including managing timelines, data analyses,

·       supporting client communication and cross-functional team collaboration

·       Detail orientation with a strong desire to develop data analytics content expertise (e.g., Real World Evidence, clinical oncology, Health Economics and Outcomes Research)

·       Ability to own multiple client relationships simultaneously by embedding oneself into client's way of thinking and championing client's needs within M2Gen

·       Ability to navigate and communicate across organizations with different cultures

·       Persistent and resilient with a tenacious appetite for success

·       Be flexible, have a start-up mindset, and enjoy a fast-paced, constantly changing, deadline-driven environment

·       Strong analytical ability and critical thinking skills

·       Comfortable working independently as well as part of a matrixed team
