Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, a comprehensive NCI designated center, is seeking applications from Assistant Professor/Member, Associate Professor/Member and Full Professor/ Senior Member level individuals to participate in the Drug Discovery Department. Structure-based drug design and focused combinatorial chemistry library approaches will be strongly supported by the current and developing research infrastructure. The Moffitt Cancer Center has outstanding core laboratory facilities and services available such as: NMR and mass spectroscopy, synthetic and parallel chemistry, structural biology, molecular modeling, high throughput screening, proteomics and microarray shared facilities. The Chemistry laboratories are newly renovated, providing an excellent modern workplace for medicinal chemistry.
Synthetic organic chemists looking for strong biological collaborators with outstanding core facilities or industrial synthetic organic chemists looking for a wide open research agenda are encouraged to apply.
Successful candidates must possess a Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry or related areas with preferred experience in molecular recognition and/or bioorganic/synthetic/medicinal chemistry.
Experience in the design of protein-protein interaction disruptors and/or targeting long non-coding RNA is highly desirable but not required.
Candidates for the rank of Assistant Professor/Member must have at least two years postdoctoral experience. Candidates for the rank of Associate Professor/Member must have a proven track record of independent federal funding and research and at least five years experience at the Assistant Professor or equivalent level.
