  • The Senior Process Improvement Engineer works collaboratively with management and staff across the hospital to achieve operational improvement objectives.  This position will be responsible for providing expert-level process design, data analysis, improvement strategies, and project management.  The Senior Process Improvement Engineer will have accountability for improvement initiatives leading to the development of a high reliability culture; interacting with physicians, leaders, and staff; ensuring that all project requirements are properly documented; working with management and staff in the allocation of resources; communicating project progress to leaders, customers, and management; developing and adhering to project budgets.  In addition, this position will work cooperatively with other project managers to develop and maintain a project management methodology and prioritization strategy. This position will report to the Director of Learning and Organizational development. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Management Engineering, Operations Research or an equivalent degree, Masters Degree preferred.  No special certification, registration or licensure is required; however, certified completion of training in a process improvement methodology or professional industrial engineering certification. i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, Black Belt certification, or its equivalent is highly preferred.  Must have demonstrated experience executing process improvement projects using traditional methodologies (Lean Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, PDSA) with evidence of results. Must have three to five years experience in identifying process improvement opportunities, developing implementation and sustainment plans; in project management, demonstrated success in planning and executing small to large scale projects. Must have demonstrated ability to function at a high level in a dynamic environment, excellent facilitation, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills. Experience within the healthcare industry with emphasis on process improvement activities strongly preferred.
