Formal training beyond the high school level, or its equivalent in experience.
Three years of secretarial experience.

Ability to accept responsibility, to maintain confidentiality, and to function independently.
Ability to communicate clearly in English, both orally and in written form.

This position reports to the CHM Community Assistant Dean and Director of Rural Health Curriculum. Provides secretarial support to the MSU College of Human Medicine’s Rural Community Health Program (R-CHP).

College of Human Medicine Responsibilities
Maintains Director of Rural Health Curriculum’s calendar.
Assists in the communication/coordination of annual rotation schedules with CHM, COM and Residency staff.
Helps the staff maintain MSU CHM medical student files and schedules as pertaining to R-CHP students.
Coordinates all aspects of the Rural Health piece embedded within required third-year MSU CHM rotations for R-CHP students. This includes scheduling; preparing clerkship letters; assisting with clerkship orientations; updating and distributing syllabi; preparing materials for clerkships, processing evaluation forms and E-Value system, proctoring exams, processing clerkship documentation including student grades, and communicating with the departments on the main campus.
Coordinates R-CHP students fourth year schedules. This includes but is not limited to, contacting physician preceptors, creating student schedules, distributing and processing evaluations.
Assists with the following:
Makes travel arrangements for student and faculty away sessions.
Coordinates videoconferencing schedules for student meetings.
Assists with Block III Orientation.
Transcribes letters as needed.
Assist with MSU CHM Traverse City campus duties as requested as time allows.
Facilitate campus wide faculty development as elements and curriculum become available.
Other duties as defined.
