The most qualified candidate for this position will be a self-starter, flexible to work between the hours of 4:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m., very proficient on the computer in a windows environment to do data entry and able to lift up to 50 lbs. to retrieve stock from storage and dispose of waste on a regular basis.
High school graduate, preferably with courses in biology and chemistry.
Good manual dexterity is essential.
Requires concise, legible handwriting, and typing skills.
Previous lab experience or medical assistant training and/or certification or satisfactory completion of lab introductory phlebotomy course, if offered.
Must be available for weekend and holiday scheduling.
General: Assist at autopsies, sort/file pathology reports, perform dish room tasks, morgue maintenance.
Cytology Aide: Change stainer, billing report, process specimens, dept. clean up, pap entry and notifications.
Histology: Assemble and send consultations, file slides, billing, maintenance, performance and documentation. Data entry, answering phones, removal of reagent waste that requires lifting up to 50 lbs.
