Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

 

Ø  A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Operations Management, Nursing, or other healthcare discipline is required.  Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred.

 

Ø  Four or more years’ analytical experience required, with demonstrated proficiency using spreadsheet, database, and Microsoft Office tools in a healthcare setting.

 

Ø  Experience mining complex information, analyzing data, and synthesizing findings required. 

 

Ø  Experience in preparing complex analyses and detailed reports required.

 

Ø  Experience in delivering both small and large group presentations to administrators, physicians, management, and others required.

 

Ø  Experience with cost accounting, benchmarking systems, and statistical software tools preferred.

 

Ø  Must have project management experience, including the ability to successfully coordinate complex projects.

 

Ø  Must demonstrate ability to be organized and self-directed.  Must demonstrate knowledge and skill in problem-solving, decision-making and critical-thinking.

 

Ø  Must have strong interpersonal skills.  Must communicate and interact effectively with stakeholders from all levels of the organization.   

 

ORGANIZATION

This position is under the supervision of the Manager of Business Intelligence.

 

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility, although may give direction to other department members in the course of project management.

 

Must be able to work independently and prioritize projects as assigned by various individuals.

  1. Works at the highest level to provide customers with specialized advice on operational and strategic issues and problems.  Applies advanced knowledge of the hospital and healthcare delivery system to customer problems, projects, and tasks.  Possesses breadth of knowledge and experience not held by others in the organization. 

 

  1. Possess primary responsibility for the smooth and timely delivery of Performance Services solutions to customer problems.  Responsible for managing most aspects of projects having direct strategic or operational impact.  Works independently on most projects.  Routinely interacts with management, senior leadership, and physicians.

 

  1. Develops and maintains various comparative and performance tracking systems, reporting results to various levels throughout the organization.  Converts data from multiple systems into information for operational, tactical, financial and strategic decision-making, particularly within specific service lines and/or departments.

 

  1. Develops business plans and other focused analyses at the direction of management. Evaluates outcomes and trends for primary customers, in the region and elsewhere, and makes observations regarding opportunities. 

 

  1. Provides knowledge and expertise for capital and operating budget development and variance analysis.  Provides solutions supporting productivity monitoring and improvement.

 

  1. Understands and analyzes data flows, and the identifying instances of defects, errors, waste, and variation.  Assesses and improves data processes and information flow.  Assume a substantial role in data governance at Munson. 

 

  1. Serves as a senior member of the Performance Services team, providing direction and education to other team members as needed.  Stays abreast of new information by reading, attending seminars, benchmarking, and networking with other providers.

 

  1. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
