Performs blood collection which includes preparing venipuncture site, utilizing appropriate equipment, collecting samples, completing paperwork and computer functions specific to whole collections.
Performs automated blood and component apheresis procedures, completing paperwork and computer functions specific to automated collections.
Performs, documents and takes appropriate action on QC.
Transports, processes, stores and modifies blood, components, and donor samples.
Documents exceptions, deviations (BPDs), and reactions.
Schedules, performs and documents all phases of component apheresis procedures.
Assists with donor recruiting, education and community awareness programs.
Drive, set-up and perform daily maintenance on the bloodmobile.
Coordinate and document the major maintenance of the bloodmobile.
