HealthcareSource Expands Access to Education, Training Resources Through Partnership with RQI Partners

HealthcareSource Learning Management System Features Gold Standard in Life Support Training, Proven to Improve Cardiac Arrest Outcomes

Woburn, Mass. – Feb. 6, 2019 – HealthcareSource®, the leading provider of talent management solutions for the healthcare industry, today announced it is expanding its learning management suite of education and training resources to include the Resuscitation Quality Improvement® (RQI®) program and HeartCode® Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support eLearning programs. The programs are codeveloped by the American Heart Association and Laerdal Medical and implemented by RQI Partners LLC, a joint venture partnership between the two organizations.

“We are thrilled to be offering our clients access to this gold standard in life support training that is proven to improve cardiac arrest outcomes,” said J.P. Fingado, HealthcareSource President and Chief Executive Officer. “We’ve found that continuous access to high-quality education and hands-on training enables healthcare organizations to provide better care, enhance employee skillsets, and reduce turnover from improved employee engagement. Continually adding new content to our talent management platform is another way we are helping our clients improve outcomes across the entire continuum of care.”

Each year, more than 200,000 adult cardiac arrests occur in U.S. hospitals, and less than 26 percent of those patients survive. High-quality CPR is the primary component that influences survival from cardiac arrest.

The American Heart Association and Laerdal Medical have called for a new standard of care by shifting resuscitation practice from course training once every two years to verified CPR competency for healthcare professionals through low-dose, high-frequency quality improvement. RQI is a self-directed, simulation-based performance program that offers hands-on learning for CPR quality improvement, verifying competency in 10-minute sessions every 90 days.

The RQI skill-session modules integrate with the HealthcareSource NetLearning learning management system, allowing training data to be stored in the system for tracking and documenting individual learner performance. This new integration is in addition to the thousands of courseware titles available via the LMS to support healthcare workers who often assume multiple roles. The LMS provides customizable reports that accelerate organizational accreditation surveys, as well as learners’ certification and licensure renewal processes.

“We’re pleased to work with HealthcareSource, a company with a mission to transform healthcare by providing solutions that improve the quality of patient care, to market, sell and provide our customers access to our product portfolio on its LMS platform,” said Clive Patrickson, RQI Partners’ CEO. “We want to ensure healthcare professionals possess the essential skills to perform high-quality CPR on every patient, every time, and are excited to partner with HealthcareSource to further the reach of our resuscitation products.”
