    Patient Care Policy Coordinator's primary responsibility is coordinating the processes of creating, updating, communicating and maintaining policies, procedures, job descriptions and forms for patient care areas.  Helps to write and organize patient care policies working with policy owners each year to make sure all patient care policies are reviewed/updated annually. Acts as a resource and works in coordination with shared governance councils to update and develop patient care polices.  Assists in the advancement of the professional practice environment by communicating the NGHS nursing strategic direction and focusing on activities that support the nursing strategic direction.  Provides support for VOICE and the NDNQI quality teams as necessary in the department. Assists with overall professional nursing practice and other projects as assigned.

    Essential Tasks and responsibilities:

    ·        Assures control over all policies, procedures, job descriptions, and forms for patient care areas within NGMC

    ·        Coordinates committees or task groups to achieve and maintain document control

    ·        Promotes evidenced-based practice in development and utilization of clinical protocols and standards of practice

    ·        Collaborates with VOICE councils to facilitate evidence-based patient care policy and procedure reviews

    ·        Assures that policies/procedures are developed as needed relative to the clinical practice models

    ·        Assists in development and implementation of standard work for systematic clinical policies and procedure review



    ·        Bachelor's Degree in Nursing BSN or MSN

    ·        Three years of direct care RN nursing experience with a minimum of one year as an Acute Care RN
