The Senior Instrument Room Technician. will be the point person for the instrument room evening shift.
Responsibilities include preparation and delivery of medical/surgical supplies, instruments and equipment for surgical procedures; cleaning, packaging and processing of surgical equipment, instrumentation and scopes; maintaining inventory and storage of supplies and meeting the needs of the surgical team through support of activities in the sterile core. Must have previous training and work experience in central sterilization processing.
Additional duties will include:
-Reviewing OR schedule,
-Verifying vendor pans,
-Ordering instruments that are kept at a specific par level (hemostats, scissors, etc)
-Work on "clean up" details that are often neglected during the day shift-cleaning out rigid containers, LMA's recording.
-Responsible for priority instruments to be sterile and ready for next day's cases. These are instrument sets that are not on doctor preference card but needed in emergency situations.
-Collaborate with day and evening shift on schedule changes
Must have previous training and work experience in central sterilization processing.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. CRCST preferred. 6-12 months related work experience preferred.
