Obtains accurate and thorough demographic and insurance information, exercises proper and appropriate data entry, and enters data into computer system to complete patient registration for all areas of the Hospital.  This position also entails admitting patients as directed by floor staff. Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities:  1. Ability to read and write at a level normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma or equivalent. 2. Ability to understand various requirements for each insurance company and knowledge of principles of customer service normally acquired through a minimum of 1-3 months previous related experience or 1-3 months on-the-job training. 3. Ability to operate a computer, printer and other office equipment.  Data entry skills in order to accurately input patient demographic information to computer system. 4. Ability to greet and communicate effectively with patients and their families, hospital staff and physicians in order to assure effective exchange of information and to present a positive professional image.  .
