Job Details:
  • Job Summary:  Under the direction of the Patient Access Supervisor, the Patient Access Representative is responsible for accurately collecting and completing all necessary financial and demographic information required for patient registration. Responsible for booking admissions, assigning rooms, arranging bed transfers and discharging patients. Processes insurance verification within Patient Access.


    Job Requirement:  High school diploma or GED required. Excellent verbal communication skills required. Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred. Good organizational skills required. Demonstrated ability to perform simple math calculations; ability to accurately handle cash transactions required. Must be computer literate; working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word / Excel / Outlook) required; strong keyboarding / typing skills required. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology required; knowledge of ICD-9 / CPT codes preferred. Ability to read, write and communicate in English required. One (1) year experience in an admitting department OR one (1) year clerical experience in a physician’s office, ambulatory care service or similar health care setting required.
