Position Summary: Reporting to the Physical Therapy Managers and upon referral or signed plan of care by an appropriate, licensed healthcare professional, the Senior Physical Therapist Level II evaluates, treats, and educates patients with disability, traumatic injury, pain, disease, or dysfunction preventing normal lifestyle using physical, mechanical, and chemical means including but not limited to heat, cold, light, air, water, sound, electricity, mobilization, manual techniques, and therapeutic exercise. Performs and interprets tests and measurements to assess pathophysiological, pathomechanical, and developmental deficits of human systems to determine treatment and assist in diagnosis and prognosis. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care based on principles of development of the life span, possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient’s specific needs. Manages department in the absence of Supervisor/Managers, participates in performance evaluations, coordinates and implements staff education, acts as primary preceptor for new hires and primary clinical instructor of PT students, presents formal staff in-services, coordinates performance improvement activities with superiors, initiates and implements specialty programs.
Job Requirements; Bachelor’s degree or successful completion of an accredited academic program in Physical Therapy required, DPT preferred. NY State License required. Five (5) years experience as a Physical Therapist required. One (1) to two (2) years supervisory experience preferred. CPR BLS preferred.
