Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
3 years of experience required
Responsible for the provision and evaluation of nursing care in assigned nursing unit.

Provides effective leadership by coordinating and integrating services within their department, with other departments and with the hospital's primary functions.
Implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of the services. *
Manages departmental budget including processes to monitor operational and capital costs.
Manages department human resources by: determining qualifications, competence and performance expectations; implementing and monitoring staffing plans; providing orientation, in-service training and continuing education of all persons in the department and applying policies/procedures pertaining to human resources management. *
Continuously assesses and improves the department's performance by designing operational processes monitoring performance through data, analyzing the data, implementing sustainable performance improvement, and participating in multi-disciplinary inter-departmental PI activities.
Manages information by providing information systems and data management for department operations and performance improvement.
Manages the environment (of care) by developing, implementing and monitoring processes to reduce and control environmental hazards and risks; preventing accidents and injuries and maintaining safe conditions for patients, staff and visitors.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN required
Experience: 36 months RN experience with at least 12 months in practice area, or equivalent experience; has practiced nursing in the last 3 years; previous management experience.
Prior experience with Regulatory requirements of CAP & JCAHO preferred.
Number and type of team members supervised: Professional and non-professional personnel
Licensure, Registry, or Certification: RN currently licensed in South Carolina. BLS required.
Special Training: Skills necessary to treat patients of all ages. Trained in airway management ACLS/BCLS required. PALS preferred. Must possess good assessment skills and good critical thinking skills.
