Coordinates hospital activities on scheduled shift to facilitate provision of patient care services to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and applies hospital and nursing service policies when directing the provision of these services. The Nursing Supervisor participates in controlling the financial plan for the departments through management of personnel assigned to the units/departments. Assesses need for and provides for an adequate number of appropriate competent staff to provide quality and efficient patient care. Provides direct patient care, when necessary. Provides education to patients, families and staff. Communicates to administration any/all appropriate issues. Interacts with staff, physicians and other Department Heads in a collegial relationship in order to meet patient, family and departmental needs.
Required: Graduate of an approved program of professional nursing. Current West Virginia State Nursing License. A minimum of three (3) years of medical/surgical and/or critical care experience. Telemetry and/or Pediatric experience. BLS and ACLS Certification.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing. PALS Certification. Neonatal Advance Life Support (NALS). One to three years of management or leadership experience. One year of pediatric experience.
