Coordinates hospital activities on scheduled shift to facilitate provision of patient care services to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric Intensive Care patients. Applies hospital and nursing service policies when directing the provision of these services. Assists Respiratory Therapy in caring for ventilator patients. Ability to apply hemodynamic principles to direct patient care. Provide education to patients, families and staff. Communicates to administration any/all appropriate issues. Interacts with staff, physicians and other Department Heads in a collegial relationship in order to meet patient, family and departmental needs.
Required: Graduate of an approved program of professional nursing. Current WV State Nursing license. Must possess BLS certification within probationary period. ACLS, PALS & Neonatal Advanced Life Support Certification. Effective written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to learn and perform functions. Ability to prioritize work independently. Ability to work as a team. Knowledge of infection control and handling of hazardous material.
Preferred: One year of Medical/Surgical experience. Critical Care experience and certification.
