The Surgery Scheduler & Surgical Supplies Coordinator is responsible for optimizing surgery supply systems for service line efficiency and cost effectiveness through standardization of supplies and reduction of inventory. Coordinates the selection of supplies and vendor and the establishment of inventory levels with Materials Management. Collaborates with the Purchasing Office on Corporate Product Line Advisory Team. The Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling appointments for surgeries and follow-up appointments for multiple physicians at the clinic or hospital. They will perform pre-operative and post-operative data entry, chart assembly, and provide patients with necessary information. They will assist in the efficient management of the daily surgery schedule, including inter and intra departmental communication intended to facilitate the flow of surgical patients.
Required: High School Diploma. Strong clinical knowledge of surgical procedures, supplies and equipment. Strong financial and analytical skills. Leadership and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with physicians, managers and staff. Strong computer skills in necessary programs such as Excel and Word. Minimum of three years experience in healthcare. Minimum of two years experience in surgical services.
Preferred: Associate Degree in Business, accounting or related field. Minimum of one year experience in supervisory role.
