    SUMMARY: The Nurse Practitioner shall perform as an independent and interdependent member of the Occupational Health team in accordance with the Indiana State Board of Nursing Standards of Advanced Practice. Assumes care to patients who have experienced on the job injuries or illnesses in collaboration with physician. Follows established nurse practitioner protocols and guidelines along with local and federal laws including OSHA, FMLA, DOT, Worker's Compensation, ADA, Board of Health and other agencies/legislation. Participates in quality improvement and evaluation processes related to the process of patient care delivery.


    EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Masters of Science in Nursing. If credentialed under the requirements of a baccalaureate degree, can continue to be recertified through obtaining the necessary CEU's without earning a Master's degree.


    LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Must provide and maintain a current State of Indiana Registration for nursing, or endorsement by Indiana State Board of Nursing. Must have and maintain current certification as a Nurse Practitioner. If credentialed under the requirements of a baccalaureate degree, must maintain certification for prescriptive authority. Must be CPR certified.


    EXPERIENCE:  Three or more years of general nursing experience. Two or more years as a Nurse Practitioner, with Occupational Health or family practice experience. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
