As a member of the practice staff, the core responsibility of this position is to enable the physician(s) to effectively see and provide quality medical care to as many patients as possible. Although some of the functions of this position are related to administrative tasks necessary to sustain the practice and are important, these are secondary to the core responsibility. Collaborate with the physician administrator on the development of audiological services, and policies and procedures related to providing audiological procedures in the practice – both are diagnostic audiology and hearing aid dispensing.
Education: College diploma required. Graduate degree from an accredited program. Certification: ASHA Certification.
Two years experience working as a clinical audiologist performing the full range of diagnostic audiology as well as hearing dispensing. Computer literate with accurate keyboard skills and working knowledge of Misys Tiger practice management software and word processors and spreadsheets. Familiarity with existing practice audiological equipment including a GSI-16 Audiometer and GSI-33 Middle Ear Analyzer. Understand of CPT and ICD-9-CM coding related to audiological services. Experience in a project-oriented position preferred. Knowledge of patient confidentiality issues and medical ethics is required. Pleasant speaking voice and demeanor. Neat, professional appearance. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Applicants must be presently authorized to work in the United Stated on a full-time basis.
