Riverside Medical Group is currently looking for a dynamic Orthopedics Clinic: Athletic Trainer in Newport News, VA.
JOB SUMMARY: An Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC) is required to be flexible with daily scheduling and may be required to work in various settings. An athletic trainer is supervised by the office manager and/or the physician(s). The athletic trainer will be able to demonstrate an ability to perform the following functions regarding athletic injuries: prevention, assessment, treatment, (including first aide) and reconditioning as set forth by the NATA Board of certification. The primary responsibilities of the athletic trainer are to to educate the public on injury prevention, rehabilitation, wellness and other health-related issues; and to maintain the highest standards of care and integrity. The primary location of work might include any combination of outpatient clinic; recreational facility, school, or university treatment headquarters; or at practice or game sites. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development throughout the life span, be able to assess customers? needs and status by analyzing evaluated data, and be able to interpret information to identify age-specific needs and provide appropriate care accordingly per patient care setting.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training required
CERTIFICATION: Medical Assistant Certification may be obtained during the first 60 days of employment.
EXPERIENCE: 5 years in an Ambulatory Healthcare setting required
