Riverside Doctors Hospital Williamsburg is currently seeking a labor pool (as needed) Medical Technologist (MT/MLS.)

Riverside Doctors' Hospital opened in May 2013 and is licensed for 40 private rooms - 33 Medical/Surgical rooms and 7 Intensive Care rooms. Surgical Services features 2 operating rooms, in addition to the 2 ORs already located at Riverside Doctors' Surgery Center, and 8 private patient preparation and recovery rooms dedicated to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Job Summary: The Medical Technologist (MT) performs technical procedures in such areas as Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Blood Bank, Point of Care Testing, Urinalysis and Microbiology according to established Protocols and standard operating procedures. Perform routine maintenance of departmental equipment and procedures to include inventory control, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting. The medical technologist assists in the training of new and existing personnel as well as students. The medical technologist adheres to hospital and departmental policies and procedures; maintains a professional demeanor and exhibits a positive attitude. May perform other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology; Clinical Lab Science or equivalent degree in health science. Alternative must meet eligibility requirements for ASCP.

Certification: ASCP registered MT or eligible or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in clinical laboratory preferred. Ability to operate technology/equipment consistent with current industry standards. Working knowledge of computers desired.
