Riverside Health System's PACE facility in Richmond, Virginia is currently seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician.
PACE, Program for All-Inclusive Care of the Elderly, is a community-based program which provides patients with all necessary health services while they stay in their homes. It covers many different types of services including a day center, personal care in the home, Lifeline emergency response system, transportation to appointments, delivery of medical supplies, therapy, as well as inpatient services.
Job Summary: The Pharmacy Technician reports to the pharmacist supervision, performs designated technical, clerical and supportive tasks associated with the preparation, labeling and dispensing of medications, as well as pharmacy quality control, management of pharmacy records, inventory control and preparation of orders for drugs. The Pharmacy Technician assists Consultant Pharmacist Manager with all administrative and technical duties for PACE/Hospice pharmacy program management and 340B specialty drug program. In conjunction with the Consultant Pharmacist Manager will continue to improve, if needed, areas dealing with quality of services and education. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Certification/Licensure: Registration with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy required; certification as a pharmacy technician by a board-approved program preferred.
Experience: Must have one year previous work experience working with the frail and elderly. Prior long term care or PACE experience preferred.
