Riverside Tappahannock Hospital is seeking a Director of the Emergency Department to join our team!
Job Summary: The Nursing Director of the department/unit reflects the mission, vision, and values of Riverside Health System adheres to the
organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures,
guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Participates in the development of a strategic vision for Nursing; develops, implements, and promotes strategies for patient care
delivery and hospital operations. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to advance quality strategies, ensure a professional
work environment, facilitate timeliness of services, and enhance the overall patient experience. Oversees the development of
clinical and financial systems and nursing systems resources. Oversees the development and implementation of capacity
expansion plans. Models effective leadership behaviors to achieve organizational outcomes.
Riverside Tappahannock Hospital (RTH) is a 67 bed community hospital with a high volume and high acuity ED. Typical annual volume is 20,000 cases. RTH boasts highly skilled physicians and nurses with a full range of support services. RTH has most practice specialties, 3 general surgeons, and CT/MRI/Ultrasound capabilities. The Tappahannock and Northern Neck region is a vibrant riverfront community with easy access to urban centers such as Richmond and Fredericksburg. Education: Graduate of a school of registered nursing. Bachelor's degree is required or must willing to obtain within 5 years. Master's degree is strongly preferred.
Certifications: CEN is preferred. Current and valid RN licensure with eligibility in Virginia is required. BLS, ACLS, and PALS is required.
Experience: 5 years of progressive healthcare leadership (Charge Nurse Manager, Supervisor, Director) is required.
