Job Summary: Reports to and serves as primary assistant to the Nurse Manager in the coordination/management of patient care and the organizing, planning, directing, and evaluating of services provided with a core focus on facility and associated departments. Provides leadership, direction and mentorship/support to the staffing needs for the designated specialty area(s). As a Clinical Expert, ensures the provision of clinically competent services by validating staff competency in the provision of a comprehensive range of services/care in accordance with standards of excellence, age-specific and cultural sensitivity established by Riverside Health System and facility goals and strategic plans. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: BSN is required.
Licensure/Certification: CCRN or PCCN preferred. ACLS preferred. Current and valid RN licensure with eligibility in Virginia is required.
Experience: Progressive leadership experience which provided opportunities-develop skills in nursing practice if applies, and/or in application of administrative principles. Concentrated experience in assigned service desirable. Knowledge of regulations, policies, procedures, accreditation standards required. Knowledge of personnel administration, economics, and legislation.
Hours: Primarily 2nd shift with flexibility to meet the needs of the department (i.e. rotation to days and/or nights and weekends based on what is being taught in terms of classes and in-services).
