Riverside Radiation Oncology in Newport News, VA is currently seeking a labor pool Radiation Therapist.
JOB SUMMARY: Works under the direction of the senior therapist and Director, Radiation Oncology Services. Applies ionizing radiation to the patient in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. Assists the physics staff with patient planning and performs QA on treatment equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. In addition, this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the departmental policy and procedure guide.
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of professional Radiation Therapy
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: Must be registered or eligible for registration by ARRT. Must be CPR Certified
EXPERIENCE: One year experience in clinical setting preferred.
HOURS: Days, will require travel to all 4 radiation oncology sites
