Riverside Health System is seeking a full time Cancer Registrar.
Job Summary: The Cancer Registrar is responsible for identifying, abstracting and maintaining annual follow-up of cancer patients for the Riverside Health System. Daily duties include identification of reportable cancer cases and collection of patient medical history, diagnostic, prognostic, treatment and survival data to be entered into electronic cancer database. Responsible for ensuring accurate cancer staging using AJCC TNM guidelines. Communicates with local cancer registries for reporting purposes. Performs data retrieval for quality reporting measures. Ensures cancer database is maintained in accordance with the American College of Surgeons standards for Accredited Cancer Programs. Assists with coordination of cancer conference and cancer committee and attends when needed. Participates in annual registrar education. Performs all other duties as assigned. Complies with HIPAA. Works under the supervision of the Cancer Registry Manager.
Education: Associates Degree or Higher required.
Licensure: CTR certified or eligible for certification.
Experience: Minimum one year experience in health care related field required. Medical records, cancer registry or other health information management field preferred.
