We are looking for a full-time Medical Technologist (MLS) or Medical Lab Tech (MLT) to join our team at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, Virginia.

Job Summary: The Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) or Medical Lab Tech (MLT) performs technical procedures in such areas as Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Blood Bank, Point of Care Testing, Urinalysis and Microbiology according to established Protocols and standard operating procedures. Perform routine maintenance of departmental equipment and procedures to include inventory control, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting. Assists in the training of new and existing personnel as well as students. The Medical Technologist performs the responsibilities of lead technologist in the absence of an on site supervisor when designated as such. May perform specimen collection, specimen processing and phlebotomy as applicable. May perform other duties as assigned.
MLT-Associates degree in Medical Lab Technology or equivalent degree in health science. Alternative must meet eligibility requirements for ASCP.
MT-Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Technology; Clinical Lab Science or equivalent degree in health science. Alternative must meet eligibility requirements for ASCP.
Certification: ASCP registered MLS/MLT or eligible or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in clinical laboratory preferred. Ability-operate technology/equipment consistent with current industry standards. Working knowledge of computers.
