Job Summary: Works under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing. Responsibilities include work scheduling, evaluating employee performance and managing employee relations. In addition, the nurse manager is responsible for the quality of work, staff productivity, team morale, nursing unit budget, physician collaboration, and employee adherence to facility and departmental policies, procedures and guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Graduate of a school of registered nursing. BSN preferred.  

Licensure/Certifications: Licensed or eligible by the State of Virginia as an RN. BLS certification is required. 

Experience: 3 years of progressive management experience in the area of medical/surgical nursing required preferably in Long Term Care or CCRC. Demonstrated ability in Charge Nurse role (2 years) is required.
