Job Summary: This individual will work under the supervision of the Manager/Supervisor, Director and Medical Director of Respiratory Care Services. They will be responsible for the planning, executing and evaluating the total Respiratory Care of assigned patients and utilizing current evidenced-based Respiratory Care Practices to care for each patient, based on the psychological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. They will work under the direction of the leadership team to provided respiratory services associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health System and facility goals and strategic plans. In addition, they will be responsible for assuring safe practices as referenced in the National Patient Safety Goals, and will support best practices as recommended by the American Association of Respiratory Care.
Licensure and Certification: Must be licensed by the state of Virginia as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. RRT required. BLS Certification required. ACLS required within 90 days of employment. PALS preferred.
Education: Associates or Bachelors Degree in Respiratory Care required
Experience: Previous respiratory care experience of one year preferred. Must be able to read and comprehend, manipulate numbers, basic computer use and interpret data. Comprehensive knowledge of respiratory process and protocols.
