We are seeking dynamic Registered Nurses to join our Oncology team at Riverside Regional Medical Center!
The Oncology Unit is an 18 bed Medical Oncology unit that specializes in the care of the oncology patient and family. The unit's designed and operating structure accommodate the complex needs of patients with cancer-related disorders. There is a special lead-lined room on the unit used for cesium implants and radioactive iodine therapy. Nurses provide care for newly diagnosed patients, those receiving cancer treatments such as chemotherapy or radiation, those receiving care for symptom control, both from disease or the side-effects of treatment and those needing pain relief through palliative care.
Education: MSN, BSN, ADN, or nursing diploma required. Specialty certification in field highly encouraged.
Licensure: Licensed RN or board eligible by the State of Virginia or compact state. CPR required for all Medical/Surgical units.
Experience: Experience preferred in an acute care setting but not required. Some specialty areas may require previous nursing experience.
