Riverside Doctors' Hospital Williamsburg is seeking a Full Time Infection Prevention Coordinator in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Job Summary: Works under the direction of the regions Nurse Executive with support from the Infection Control System Director. The Infection Prevention Coordinator is trained in hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of hospital acquired infections (HAI) using NHSN/CDC definitions. Identifies trends and risks to design and implement infection prevention strategies. Serves as a knowledgeable and available resource on infection control practices and policies throughout the geographic region. Conducts Environment of Care rounds in acute, lifelong health and medical group practices throughout the region to identify risk and ensure compliance with infection prevention practices. Provides staff education related to infection prevention and environment of care. Participates in construction, renovation, planning, environmental rounds, and monitors compliance with infection prevention and control practices. May perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements: BSN required. Certification in Infection Control preferred or actively enrolled in a course of study to see certification. Experience in related field preferred.
Certification/Licensure Requirements: CPR/BLS is required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia or compact designation.
Experience Requirements: Two years' experience as a staff nurse or in a related area required. Previous infection control experience preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.
