Riverside Regional Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead our 2P South Neuroscience nursing team!

Job Summary: Responsible for integration of the nursing process to include, coordination/management of patient care and the organizing, planning, directing, and evaluating of Services provided with a core focus on Facility and associated departments. Provides leadership, direction and mentorship/support to the staffing needs for the designated specialty area(s). As a Clinical Expert, ensures the provision of clinically competent services by validating staff competency in the provision of a comprehensive range of services/care in accordance with standards of excellence, age-specific and cultural sensitivity established by Riverside Health System and facility goals and strategic plans. Performs other duties as assigned.

About Riverside Regional: Riverside began serving the Virginia Peninsula community in 1916. In 1963 Riverside moved to the present 72-acre location in Newport News on J. Clyde Morris Boulevard. A 450-bed facility, Riverside Regional Medical Center is the Virginia Peninsula's most comprehensive medical facility combining the most recent computerized medical technology with a healing environment. The Pavilion is a 250,000 sq. ft., $107 million, 3-story addition to Riverside Regional Medical Center, which opened in 2013. This acute care facility provides a regional cancer care center, the Peninsula regions' only comprehensive stroke center, the area's only open-heart surgery program, the region's only Level II Trauma Center, and a cornerstone neurosciences program that includes the Chesapeake, Riverside, and University of Virginia Radiosurgery Center. 

Education: BSN is required with MSN preferred.

Certifications: Licensed or eligible by the state of Virginia as an RN. May perform other duties as assigned. BLS is required. ACLS Certification preferred. NIH stroke certification is preferred.

Experience: Progressive leadership experience which provided opportunities to develop skills in nursing practice if applies, and/or in application of administrative principles. Concentrated experience in med/surg or neuroscience service desirable. Knowledge of regulations, policies, procedures, accreditation standards required. Knowledge of personnel administration, economics, and legislation.
