PACE (Program for All-Inclusive Care of the Elderly) is a community-based program which provides patients with all necessary health services while they stay in their homes. It covers many different types of services including a day center, personal care in the home, Lifeline emergency response system, transportation to appointments, delivery of medical supplies, therapy, as well as inpatient services.

DESCRIPTION: Work under the supervision of the Recreation Therapy Manager to assist with the implementation of the recreation program which provides leisure opportunities to PACE participants.  Conduct therapeutic programs to include recreational and social activities, provide assistance to participants during general recreation activities, initiate group activities with participants based upon their expressed leisure interests and adapted to their individual abilities.  Set- up and begin recreational programs, assist at mealtime, and provide supervision during community outings.  Perform general office duties, maintain office supplies and ensure activity supplies are inventoried and stored appropriately.  Make copies of program materials and create and mail fliers, pen and paper activities, etc.  Report all participant suggestions, comments, and progress to the Recreational Therapy Manager.  Complete accurate and timely documentation about participant attendance and performance.  

EDUCATION:   High school diploma or equivalent required.                                                                   

EXPERIENCE:  One year working experience with the frail and/ or elderly required.  Previous experience in Recreational Therapy experience in a long term care or special population preferred.                        

HOURS:  Full Time; Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
