Job Summary: Works under the supervision of the Lead Teacher or Teacher. Carries out assigned duties, which may include, but are not limited to, the personal care, discipline, hygiene, learning, and developmental activities of children in their care, preparation for and implementation of activities, and maintaining cleanliness, decorations, and safety of the classroom. Ensures compliance with Virginia State Licensing regulations. Works within the philosophy and objectives of the Riverside Child Development & Learning Center and Riverside Regional Medical Center.
High School Diploma or G.E.D required. Must be at least 16 years of age (HS Diploma/GED not required if under 18).
At least 20 hours of training per year in Child Development issues. Must obtain certification in CPR and First Aid within 90 days of employment and maintain current throughout employment.
Previous experience in a Child Care setting preferred. Monday - Friday, 11:30am to 5:30pm. Works well with children of all ages, but especially ages 6 weeks to 2 years.
