JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides medical care and clerical support by facilitating patient flow through Ambulatory/Outpatient Center clinics. Performs various activities such as data collection, routine tests, specimen collection, EKG's, assisting with procedures, patient registration and front desk support.
EDUCATION: Successful completion of an approved Medical Assistant program.
EXPERIENCE: One (1) experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care, maintain clinical competency and meet patient population needs within clinic area to include: vital sign recording, blood/specimen collection, data collection and entry, EKG testing and maintaining sterile environment and infection control practices.
- Communicate effectively with unit personnel, medical/hospital staff, patient, family and others to ensure optimal patient care.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION: Certified Medical Assistant and CPR Certifications are REQUIRED.
