Graduate of an Approved Nursing Assistant Program
SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Under direction of professional nurse, performs
patient care activities to meet the personal needs and comfort of patients,
assisting members of the health care team, and maintaining a clean, safe
and assists with various aspects of patient care under general

2. Performs technical procedures as delegated

3. Provides support to staff:

EDUCATION: Completion of an approved nursing assistant or
medical assistant program. Qualified by education, training or experience to
work with the infant, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient as specialty
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year consecutive experience as nursing
assistant may be utilized in lieu of certificate.
OR CERTIFICATION: Current CPR/BLS certification required. Current TN Nurse Aide Certification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

and meet age-specific patient needs within the unit to include: general
hygiene, vitals/measurements, patient transport, environment and infection
ability to follow written and oral instructions, plan and organize work to
be done, effectively record and reflect observations, react and perform
under stress in emergency situations, and communicate effectively with
unit personnel, medical/hospital staff, patient, family and others to
ensure optimal patient care.
