HS/GED or relevant paid work experience in lieu of education
Job Summary: Complete standardized cleaning process in patient rooms, offices, departments and other secondary areas, utilizing the seven-step cleaning process. Demonstrates on a consistent basis, the individual and team behaviors that embody the service excellence philosophy. Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager within the Support Services Department including but not limited to Patient Escort, Dietary, Linen and Security.
Position approved to start August 2019. Position is located at Roper Berkeley Hospital near Carnes Crossroads (where 17A and 176 Intersect.)
Education: High school graduate or GED preferred. In lieu of high school diploma or GED, a minimum of 12 months of job experience in a similar or related field may be considered. Basic reading comprehension skills required. For those without a GED or High School diploma, a passing result for a reading comprehension assessment is required for this position. The assessment will be administered during the interview process by a Human Resources representative.

Knowledge/Skills: Must have the ability to operate standard cleaning equipment (Burnishers, Buffers, auto scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, wringer, and mops) remain calm in a fast-paced or hostile environment, and handle line multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Requires the ability to communicate effectively and work well with all levels of patients, the public, and other health care workers. A basic knowledge of all relative codes (ie. DHEC, TJC, OSHA, EPA, AND LIFE SAFETY CODES) is required. . Professional and neat appearance is required to project a positive image of CareAlliance. Must maintain strict confidentiality of all work-related information.
