Peer Recovery Supporter

The Peer Recovery Supporter (PRS) will facilitate one-on-one peer coaching, teach residents skills to navigate the health care system, facilitate group sessions focused on education and peer support intervention; transport residents/alumni to medical appointments, as needed; identify and communicate basic emotional or behavioral changes which require intervention or referral to clinical staff. Assist residents with accessing and developing natural support systems in their community.
High School graduate or equivalent required; college diploma in a related field is preferred. The Peer Recovery Supporter should be well-established in their own recovery. Must be certified through the State of Ohio as a Peer Recovery Supporter within a year of being employed at Joseph's Home if not already certified upon hire. Must maintain continuing education requirements. A minimum of 2 years' experience as either a Peer Recovery Supporter or in a role commensurate with a Peer Support is preferred. Must maintain a valid driver's license.
