The COORDINATOR-PERIOPERATIVE SPECIALTY assists with the coordination and overall management of a specific specialty(s). They actively interface with physician(s) to provide customer service at the point of care; assess, plan and evaluate material, staff and patient specific care to coordinate activities of the specialty(s). Provide care to the patients, utilizing the Nursing Philosophy of HonorHealth and functioning within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse.The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and posses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's departmental policies and procedures. Incumbent may spend up to 50% of their time performing inservice/ orientations. Would then function as a role model, demonstrating clinical expertise in providing direct evidence-based care to patient populations. Practices effective communication methods with the Clinical Educator, leadership, co-workers, families, and customers. Serves as a policy and practice resource within the assigned unit. Implements in-service programs for clinical staff developed by others. Maintains flexibility in scheduling hours to meet clinical needs of all shifts.
EDUCATION: Associate's Degree/Diploma from an accredited NLN/CCNE institution
EXPERIENCE: 2 Years RN
FIELD OF EXPERTISE: 2 years experience as an Intraoperative Nurse
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: 1. Current AZ or other compact state RN license. 2. BCLS.
