  • The Director is responsible for the coordination and delivery of patient care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in assigned areas.  The position demands demonstrated clinical competence and good interpersonal skills.  The Director must display effective oral and written communication, critical thinking and organizational skills, assistance with staff development and oversight of adherence to clinical and professional standards to assure quality outcomes.  The Director will actually participate in department and hospital performance improvement and activities.  The Director is responsible for preparation of assigned annual department budgets, monitoring financial performance and the retention and recruitment of staff.  Directors will develop department competencies and encourage the professional advancement of clinical staff.  The position requires constant interaction with physicians, managers and other hospital personnel. Major Duties: Meets organizational expectations as defined by the Employee Standards of Performance, hospital and department policies and procedures, and the hospital’s strategic goals. Verbalizes a clear understanding of continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction measures and actively participates in improvement initiatives. Demonstrates leadership competency in customer needs and expectations, human resource management, financial outcomes, data management, strategic vision and planning, marketing initiatives and continuous improvement skills. Responds to internal/external disasters as directed. Demonstrates knowledge of licensing and accrediting standards for assigned departments. Maintain compliance with all accreditation standards as required. Ability to grow patient volumes and net revenue in all assigned areas. Acts for the CNO when requested. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the organization. CMS billing and documentation requirements for all areas. Maintains department specific competencies of staff and related personnel in all areas. Monitors hospital position as compared to national benchmarks. Manages departments focusing on patient, physician and staff satisfaction. Manages productivity and operates within budgetary restraints. Maintains highest clinical standards. Education/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  Preferred: Experience in the capital equipment acquisition process.  Track record of demonstrated cost reduction strategies development implementation.  Expertise in working directly with accreditation agency personnel during onsite surveys.  The ability to influence medical staff practice patterns in order to affect best in class positions.  Superior performance as compared to benchmarks for all services under his/her control.  Current knowledge of appropriate clinical practice and knowledge to regulatory agency standards for area of expertise.  Demonstrates oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal management, and critical thinking skills.  Capacity to develop strong clinical team working in a learning environment.  Current knowledge of the staff’s role and scope of practice as defined by the respective licensing Boards in the State of Louisiana.  Knowledge of respective discipline.  Code of Ethics.  BSN with three (3) to five (5) years of demonstrated management experience.  Required:  Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.  Current knowledge of appropriate clinical practice and knowledge of regulatory agency standards for areas of expertise.  Demonstrates oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal management, and critical thinking skills.  Capacity to develop strong clinical team working in a learning environment.  Current knowledge of the staffs role and scope of practice as defined by the respective licensing Boards in the State of Louisiana.  Knowledge of respective discipline Code of Ethics.  Two years of appropriate clinical experience.  RN licensure from the state of Louisiana with ACLS. Licensure/Certification:   Current La. R.N., ACLS & BLS
