- The Nurse Technician effectively maintains the Standards of Practice and Care while performing direct and indirect care, under the supervision of a Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse. The Nurse Technician promotes collaboration with physicians and other disciplines. Assists in the orientation and training of new and tenured personnel, reassigned extenders, nurse technicians, students, and serves as a preceptor when requested. Accepts delegated responsibilities. Documents vital signs on appropriate from, as well as, reports abnormal results immediately to appropriate nursing personnel. Required: High school graduate or equivalent. Current enrollment in an NLN accredited Registered Nurse Program with successful completion of two (2) semesters or three (3) quarters of clinical courses. EMT or previous Nurse Extender experience required.
