GENERAL SUMMARY

Works under the supervision of the Administrative Director of Community Relations & Development. The Grant Writer will spend the majority of time researching, writing, tracking, measuring, and reporting grants and other external revenue. Works with physicians, department leaders, educators and human resources to identify programs in need of funding support and then researches sources of funds for these programs.  Audits and monitors revenue for SOMC monthly. Responsible for tracking and reporting all Community Benefits activities. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education
High School Diploma/GED required.   Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or Business-related field required.


B. Licensure
N/A

C. Experience
Knowledge of information systems required.   3-5 years of experience utilizing financial skills including budgeting, marketing and project management preferred.   Previous grant writing and fund development and/or healthcare experience preferred.

 D. Interpersonal Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with public, patients and co-workers

E. Essential Technical/Motor Skills
Ability to operate computers, printers and general office equipment

F. Essential Physical Requirements
Physical demand is sedentary to light.   Sitting, standing and walking most of the day; infrequent lifting of 30 pounds or less


G. Essential Mental Requirements
Requires a high degree of analytical ability to resolve complex accounting, budgeting and reporting problems. Must cope with frequent deadlines. Must have ability to read, interpret and analyze data and compile reports.


H. Essential Sensory Requirements
Ability to see, hear and speak clearly is required
