  • Seeking Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing services in the treatment and care of assigned patients within the department of Cardiology in accordance with physicians' orders.  Individual selected will work with the provider as a primary nurse and will assist the physician with rounding at the hospital, site checks, patient education, scheduling procedures and answering messages from patients along with a variety of other cardiac-related assisting.  Individual will also provide for the comfort and well-being of patients by assessing condition, providing treatments, and administering prescribed drugs and documenting progress and other observations.   Ability to work with a diverse patient population.  Highly organized, computer skills, ability to multi-task, and enjoys a fast-paced work environment.  Prior experience in Cardiology is ideal.  Experience in an outpatient setting is preferred.  Graduate of an accredited RN program with current RN license in the State of Indiana required.  CPR preferred.  Other responsibilities, but not limited to, are as follows:

    1. Provides ongoing triage and management of office flow to meet patients medical and service needs in order to maintain optimal patient flow.
    2. Performs the technical component of the department’s clinical procedures competently.
    3. Documentation of all patient care is thorough, objective, concise, and follows appropriate legal guidelines.
    4. Communication of all patient care is thorough, objective, concise, and follows appropriate legal guidelines.
    5. Receives patients professionally in waiting area and rooms them per department protocol.
    6. Maintains accurate/current logs for equipment, i.e., refrigerator temp, autoclave, eyewash, crash cart, etc.
    7. Verifies patient insurance coverage for pre-certification, referrals and/or authorizations and documents in NextGen.
    8. Applies knowledge of general insurance guidelines and requirements to help direct patient care.
    9. Appropriately responds to emergency situations (knowledge of codes).
    10. Exhibits computer systems knowledge and proficiency as necessary to perform job functions.
    11. Demonstrates the attitudes and behaviors of The South Bend Clinic Service Standards.
    12. Performs other duties as assigned when appropriate.
    13. Adheres to HIPAA guidelines set forth in Clinic policies and procedures.
